A hero cop accidentally leads his team into a trap from which he is the only survivor. Drowning his guilt in booze, he is eventually assigned a new younger partner who turns out to have his own secrets. Inspector Wing of the Hong Kong Police Force has become the victim of a gang, led by the evil Joe. When his entire team is killed, Wing becomes a hapless drunk, feeling guilty for the deaths of his team. A young man with a troubled past pretends to be a police officer working on the case with Wing, to get him back on his feet and begin an adventure to get revenge on the evil Joe and his Gang of Five, especially when it becomes personal. I've been a Jackie Chan since I saw "Dragon Lord" back in the late eighties. Always loved his movies, his humor, his fighting and of course his stunts.

This movie is (slightly) different from other Chan movies and this shows right at the beginning of the movie were we see Jackie Chan's character as an alcoholic cop, vomitting in an alley.

But don't let the dramatic story elements scare you off. It gives depth to Chan's character and the drama doesn't effect the action or whatever,it just adds an extra dimension to the well told story and it's characters.

Like I said before, an excellent action movie with great action, stunts, explosions, (kungfu) fighting and good acting!

Chan said a couple years back that he wants to "really act", not only be an action-star (something like that). Well, if this is want he meant by that, I say "Keep these movies coming!"

As far as I am concerned, Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Seagal and all other "action"heroes can learn a lot from this 50-year-old legend!

Be sure to watch this movie with it's original Chinese dialogue, so you won't be annoyed by the often badly done dubbing. Let's face it, the movie is just bad. Jackie Chan is too old to be doing heavy duty fighting so he is trying his super powers at acting in something more that just bad heavy muscled Europeans trying to kill him and his girlfriend. And he fails miserably. It's not that he actually played very bad, but the script was hideous. There was no comedy, the ideas in it were completely unbelievable and even the fighting kind of sucked.

You want to make a great Jackie Chan movie there are three ways to do it: great comedy, great fighting, or something really innovative, like playing a hard cold assassin that uses the Chan style to kill his victims and escape capture. Kind of like an evil Bourne :)

Anyway, my daylight dreaming aside, this movie is a waste of time.
